I
found some lovely little brussel sprouts at the Farmer’s Market the other day.
I
decided to do something a little different with them, rather than just boiling
them.
I
decided to roast them. They were
amazing!
What
you need,
4-6
cups of small brussel sprouts
2
cloves garlic, minced
1
tbsp. lemon zest
2
tbsp. olive oil
Salt
and Pepper
Start
by preheating your oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment
paper.
Trim
the ends off the brussel sprouts and cut in half. In a large bowl toss the
sprouts with the oil, garlic, lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toss
the sprouts on the lined baking sheet and spread out into a single layer.
Roast
for 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the brussel sprouts are
tender.
This
was a perfect side dish, such a tasty way to prepare brussel sprouts.

I will have to try this! Sounds like a good new way to cook Cabbages With A College Education! Mike will like it.
ReplyDeleteI love Brussels sprouts! They are so yummy and so many people think they're yucky but they just must not cook em right! Me and Dad love them. They are also quite good with some balsamic vinegar! Can't wait to cook a batch so thanks for an easy recipe! I usually do them in a pan on top of the stove, but roasting them sounds easier and they look so yummy! {Spell check is forcing me to spell them Brussels sprouts, I am not sure if that's really proper or not but who cares? lol too yummy so i just don't care how they're spelled! :) } Thanks for another great recipe and a reminder of how much i love these little baby cabbages!
ReplyDeleteI don't eat brussel sprouts - just the smell nauseates me. However, my husband loves them. I usually just steam them, and he eats them with lemon juice. I think he'd like your idea, so I will try it sometime...soon.
