When I heard a rumor you could cook bacon in the oven I was
skeptical, wouldn’t it splatter all over the place, and wouldn’t it burn??
I finally decided to try it anyway. Here is the method I
used:
Line a baking sheet with tin foil, then put the bacon in a
single layer on the pan.
Put the pan on the middle rack of the oven and turn it to
400 degrees. Bake for 15-17 minutes, depending on how crisp you like it.
Remove from the oven and using tongs remove the bacon to a
paper towel lined plate.
Scarf!
It turned out perfectly! NO splatters, it stayed nice and
flat it was perfectly crispy, no bad fatty parts were left, it was awesome.
I don’t’ think I will ever cook bacon the old way again.
I wish I had a
picture to show you of my lovely oven baked bacon, but I don’t.
Here is the cautionary part of this tale.
When I was pulling the baking sheet out of the oven I guess
I yanked a little too hard and all of the molten hot bacon grease sloshed over
the side of the pan onto my left forearm.
OH DEAR!! It is nasty.
Regardless of my crazy burn, I still think this is the best
way to cook bacon, give it a try!
JUST BE CAREFUL!!
What are you all doing this weekend? I think I am going to
put up my Christmas Tree, it just feels like the right thing to do!
Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.

Omg this sounds like an awesome way to cook bacon as i HATE frying so messy and smelly. Seriously it didn't splatter all over the oven?? I am excited to try it!! Gahhh that burn looks nasty:( Thanks for the warning to be extra careful. And thanks for the great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! Hope the burn gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteEeeekkk dude, now I don't know if I can try this method!! Feel better. So large barreled curling irons and bacon are not really your friend!!
ReplyDeleteYa, I have burnt myself way too many times! I am such a klutz. It feels much better today, thanks to the Flamazine, that stuff is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt really is a great way to cook bacon, but for god sake be careful taking it out of the oven!
I know this is late but there's a must have household product everyone should have in their medicine cabinets it's calledBURN-GEL PLUS! It works wonders on burns & sunburns!! Takes the pain away & heals it really quickly! You can buy it in the first aid section of Walmart or rite aid!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I will have to look for the Burn Gel Plus. I know this won't be the last time I burn myself, so it will be handy to have!! Thanks again!!
