Favorite Things Friday Vol 67 - Current TV Obsessions

I have a confession, I am a TV addict! I am not ashamed!

The landscape of television has sure changed in the last 5 years. Not only do the shows have the visual quality of movies but the acting is phenomenal. Plus the wide array of subject matter is so appealing.

I love a show that makes me feel something. I want to be so scared I can’t sleep or so sad that I use a whole box of Kleenex.
If I am still thinking about a show days after I have watched then I know it’s a good one.

Here are a few of the amazing shows I am currently watching.

The Walking Dead

I know that not all of you are into zombies, but I think you should give this show a try anyway. Sure, at first it’s about surviving the zombie apocalypse but it quickly turns into a show about humanity. I used to be scared of the zombies but now 4 seasons in, I am even more scared of other survivors… People be crazy!
If you want to feel all the things, this is the show for you.

Call the Midwife

I love period dramas. Downton Abbey, I can’t even‼
This is also a BBC show. It is based on real memoirs of a woman who worked as a midwife in the East end of London in the 50’s. The characters are so wonderful.  You will be amazed that anyone survived living in the conditions these people had to contend with, it is quite shocking.
I think I cry every episode, sometimes it’s a happy cry and sometimes it’s a break your heart cry, I love it!

True Detective

This HBO crime drama starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey is AH-MAZING‼ I had the first 5 episodes pvr’d and when I finally sat down to watch the first one I ended up watching all 5 in a row. I couldn’t believe how quickly I got reeled into this one, it is suspenseful and dark. It will leave you breathless.
Woody and Matthew are ridiculously awesome; I have never seen them better.
I don’t want to ruin it for you so just go watch it, watch it right now! The season finally is on Sunday, I am on pins and needles to see what happens.

I am eagerly waiting for the return of Mad Men and Game of Thrones in April.

What are you guys watching? People keep telling me how great House of Cards is?? Anyone watched it?

Have a great weekend!
