Caprese Skewers

Are you looking for a super easy appetizer to take to a friends BBQ? Well I have the perfect thing for you, these caprese skewers!

They will impress all your friends because they look fancy. Secretly though, they are super easy to put together and so very tasty.

You can make them in advance and just dress them before serving. You can buy all kinds of cute heirloom mini tomatoes now and that makes them look even more fancy!

What you need,
1 pint of cherry tomatoes
1 container of mini fresh mozzarella balls
Fresh basil leaves
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt and Pepper

All you have to do is put a tomato on a little skewer, wrap the mini mozza ball with the basil leaf and put it on the skewer. Do as many as you need. Then right before serving drizzle lightly with the olive oil and balsamic and sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste.
Done and done! It is just too easy!

I make these all the time just to have as a light snack before dinner or even as the salad component of my dinner. I just love them!
Give them a try, your friends will be wowed!

  3. those look like grape tomatoes. cherry tomatoes are much bigger and harder to eat in a bite.

  4. I am not sure exactly what kind of tomatoes they are. I got them at the farmers market, there were a bunch of different little ones. I think any smaller bite sized tomato would work great!

  5. yum. try them with balsamic glaze - it doesn't drip off the tomatoes like the vinegar, and looks really pretty drizzled on top. If you don't want to make it, president's choice makes a yummy one
