Cake Batter Bon Bons

These little treats are BAD news! Not only are they super cute but they are way too yummy.

I think a basket of these would make a perfect Easter gift! You could even shape them like an egg and cover them in colored chocolate. The decorating possibilities are endless!
They are really easy, you will need the following,

1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 ½ cups of powdered sugar, divided
1 ½ cup funfetti cake mix
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp sprinkles, if desired
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips (use a high quality chocolate chip, it makes the Bon Bons taste so much better)
1 ½ tbsp Crisco shortening

In a large bowl mix the condensed milk and 1 cup of the powdered sugar until fully combined. Add in the cake mix and vanilla, mix well. Add in the rest of the powdered sugar in increments until the dough has the consistency of play dough, it will be very thick, had to hold its shape.
Add in the sprinkles, they look cute but you can leave them out!
Form the dough into balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Put the balls in the freezer for at least 20 minutes until very firm and chilled through.
For the chocolate coating melt the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl in the microwave. Stir after every 30 seconds. It will take about 2 minutes. Once the chocolate is melted stir in the Crisco until melted and smooth.
Dip the frozen balls in the chocolate and put back on the parchment paper. Top with more sprinkles if desired.
Put the balls back in the freezer to harden.
Keep in the freezer or fridge in an airtight container.
Makes about 35 Bon Bons!

Aren't they awesome! They really do taste as good as they look.
Make them and give them away, your friends will be impressed at how fancy they are plus Bon Bon's make everyone happy!

  1. So these look good!!! Are they uncooked then, just frozen?? Do they get really hard? They look like Savannas fav Starbucks birthday cake pops!! But she likes pink icing...but these look super duper yummy!!!

  2. yep, no cooking! I keep mine in the freezer they don't get very hard at all! It is all that sugar!
You could easily use pink candy/chocolate coating and cover them in that instead. I have seen the colored stuff at Michael's Craft Stores. She would have fun dipping them and decorating them!
