Passion Iced Tea Lemonade

When I go to Starbucks I always get one of two things, a caramel non-fat latte, or the passion iced tea lemonade.  When my sister sent me a recipe she saw on Pinterest for a copycat version I had to get on it ASAP!

They are so refreshing, just a light fruity flavour with a hint of lemon.

Now that I know how easy it is to make them I will be keeping the ingredients on hand, so I can whip one up at a moment’s notice.

What you need,

8 TAZO Passion flavoured tea bags
8 cups boiling water
Lemonade (I bought a premade one but you can use homemade)
Simple syrup
Ice

Start by brewing your tea, place the 8 tea bags into a large container, pour over the 8 cups of boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes or so.
Remove the tea bags and chill the tea completely.

To make a simple syrup combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of granulated sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, once it boils, and all the sugar is dissolved remove from the heat and let it come to room temperature. You can keep it in a sealed container in the fridge for a couple of weeks.

To make your drink combine in a cocktail shaker,
¾ cup of the passion iced tea
½ cup of the lemonade
1-2 tsp. of simple syrup
3-4 large ice cubes

Shake together until cold and frothy. Pour into a glass and serve right away.
You can adjust the ingredients to your tastes. Add more simple syrup if you like it sweeter or leave it out if you want a tart beverage.

Thanks for sending me this recipe Kate, it is so good! Just like Starbucks.

  2. Looks really refreshing - perfect for summer! I bet you could get away with fewer tea bags, too.
